Returning Library Books

As we near the end of the academic year 2023-24 for some courses, we wanted to take a moment to remind you to return your library items to us if you have finished using them and by the end of your course if you are leaving us altogether.

Please check your library account for details of items that are/remain on loan to you by visiting https://glos.account.worldcat.org/account/checkouts.

If you are studying with us next year or it is not the end of your course, you can keep hold of any books you still want to use, (unless they are requested by another student, in which case you will need to return them to us when required). Any Inter-Library Loan books on loan should still be returned by the due date.

Return to our external book drop boxes (no ID card required)

You can return your books to our outdoor Book Return Bins (regardless of which campus library you originally borrowed them from). The books will be returned from your account the following working day. The outdoor Book Return Bins are accessible 24/7 and do not require a current ID card to access. They can be found in the following locations:

  • FCH, opposite the entrance to FCH Refectory to the right-hand side of the door into the Teaching Centre (under the bridge between Teaching Centre & the Refectory).
  • Oxstalls, immediately outside the main entrance to Oxstalls Library/Main Reception.
  • Park, immediately outside the main reception, Elwes building

You can find a map of each campus here:

Alternatively, if you have a current ID card (you will need a current ID card to gain entry) you can return books to your local campus library (regardless of which campus library you originally borrowed them from), accessible 24/7.

If you are unable to return books as above, or need help then please contact us via [email protected] or 01242 714044 or drop by one of the library desks to discuss an alternative arrangement.

We are happy to help, so please do not hesitate to contact Your Library Team if you have any queries.
