Academic Liaison Librarians
Each of the subjects taught at the University has a designated Academic Liaison Librarian who is the primary contact for academic liaison within the Library and is expert at providing and locating library resources for your subject. They deliver library Inductions and digital literacy sessions that are fully integrated within courses and can be consulted for one-to-one sessions to help with individual research.
Talis Resource Lists
We provide guidance in the setting up Talis resource lists (Talis Aspire), adding resources to them and linking the output to module Moodle sites. You can add notes and importance levels to each item which can contextualise to students why a resource list item should be engaged with.
We also offer a Digitisation Service whereby we provide copyright cleared versions of book chapters, eBooks and journal articles for use with your module Moodle site using Talis resource lists. This can be very useful in cases when a particular reading has been recommended to a group of students and they are finding accessing the resource a problem, perhaps through limited print copies in the Library or restrictive eBook licenses.
Talis Elevate
Talis Elevate is a collaborative learning tool to facilitate and support your students’ active engagement with the resources you recommend for their learning. Please see Talis Elevate for academic staff for more information or contact your Academic Liaison Librarian.
Copyright Support
We have published extensive guidance on copyright support for teaching and learning through the Teaching Ready website. This can help you decide if material is suitable and legal to use to support your teaching.
