The Body Project Support

Research regarding the implementation of ‘The Body Project’:

  • Becker et al., 2017: The article is a qualitative review of the existing Body Project literature from efficacy to effectiveness to implementation. It discusses how collaboration with community and charity organisations enables effective implementation.
  • Akers et al., 2021: In this study, the cost-effectiveness of delivery methods for an eating disorder prevention program is reported.

Research which brings together and reviews effectiveness studies (meta-analyses)

  • Stice, Onipede, & Marti, 2021: This meta-analytic review tested whether an eating disorder prevention program significantly reduced future onset of eating disorders, investigating 15 trials (N = 5080), finding that these programs, on average, produced a 55% to 77% reduction in future onset of eating disorders.
  • Stice et al., 2019 (a): This meta-analysis summarized effects from 56 trials evaluating dissonance-based eating disorder prevention programs and identified predictors of stronger effects.
