Training to support you and your organisation.
Explore our range of evidence-based training programmes designed to equip facilitators with the tools and guidance to deliver The Body Project.
Each programme is tailored to support the unique needs of its audience while staying true to the research-backed approach that underpins The Body Project.
As part of our plan for sustainability of The Body Project in the county, we are offering free Facilitator Training to those working with the county’s young people. This includes educators, healthcare professionals, and community and charitable organisations. The training is for two full days; it is interactive and focuses on practical application and delivery.
Following feedback, for organisations who have more than 6 interested in training, we offer an alternative model where we can come to you and deliver over 4 x 3-hour sessions on-site at your location which may be more feasible given demands on staff time.
These training courses enable you to deliver the intervention within your own organisation, we also encourage you to join our Facilitator Community of Practice which gives you access to the Body Project materials as they are updated and keeps you abreast of latest research and adaptations. We also offer online support and a regular drop-in session to share experiences and challenges.

In collaboration with local secondary schools and with support from Body Project creator Prof. Eric Stice, we are currently piloting our adaptation of the Body Project for Men. We plan to make this available to those who have trained with us by the end of the year.
If you would like to be updated when this is available, please email [email protected]
In collaboration with Body Project creator Prof. Eric Stice, we are currently piloting a new adaptation of the Body Project ‘Priorities’.
This new adaptation has a focus on overvaluation of weight, shape and size with the emphasis on overall wellbeing, using cognitive dissonance to challenge weight and shape ‘ideals’ and improve self-worth. Early research in the US supports this as effective for those living in a larger body and/or experiencing binge eating.
Once finalised, this adaptation will be available to all who have trained with us.

If you are supporting young women in Gloucestershire, we may be able to run the intervention for you.
The current delivery model is for 4 x 1-hour sessions with between session ‘bridging exercises’. These are an important component as they serve to increase the active component of the intervention.
The sessions are friendly and supportive and involve verbal, written and behavioural exercises, critiquing the ‘appearance ideal’ using motivational enhancement strategies.
We may be able to offer evening delivery to accommodate schedules on request. All our facilitators hold an enhanced DBS and there is no charge for delivery.
