Beat Eating disorders
BEAT is the UK’s national eating disorder charity who exist to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. They are a champion, guide and friend to anyone affected, giving individuals experiencing an eating disorder and their loved ones a place where they feel listened to, supported and empowered.
There is a lot of information on their website about types of eating disorders and also about recovery. If you call the Helpline you will speak to a trained support worker experienced in listening and talking to people in a similar situation to you. They know it can be difficult to reach out for help and talk about what you are feeling and going through, but they aim to provide a supportive, non-judgemental space.
Whether you need 1-2-1 emotional support, want to connect with others or to learn new skills, BEAT have a range of support services that can help. They also support family and friends, equipping them with essential skills and advice, so they can help their loved ones recover whilst also looking after their own mental health.
