Brooklyn Thelwall shoots work for the Introduction to Editorial & Advertising module
Whilst researching for the 1980’s brief I decided to research previous work from other artists and brands of how perfume/aftershave commercials were displayed and presented at the time of the 1980s’s. this would have included if there was a model involved, if so, how were they portrayed? What position was they in? Was there more than one? Some of the ones that influenced my final idea was the channel No5 advertisement which heavily influenced the models position with the head in hands or leaning perhaps to give the submissive look.
I took inspiration for The Sports brief from a Nike advertisement /which is called: Winner stays. The advertisement which was released 9 years ago was an iconic advert for me growing up as I found it so inspiring that all these athletes were all inside this one commercial and the sense pf nostalgia it gave it influenced my decision. For both of my sports images the product and the target audience shot of the in action photograph I took inspiration Nike shoe advertisements of the logo placements as well as the creativity used in these commercials when displaying the product.
