With reference to the previous blog posting (https://sites.glos.ac.uk/landscapearchitecture/?s=dutson&ct_post_type=post%3Apage) the memorial tree (Sorbus spp) has been planted in the small garden adjacent to the landscape architecture building (Clegg Building, Francis Close Hall campus).
Plans are at an advanced stage to plant a tree at Francis Close Hall campus, Cheltenham, to commemorate David Dutson - a former landscape architecture student who went on to establish his own practice on the island of Jersey.
It is important that we remember this date as it was when one of our former students Piers Simon was a fatality resulting from the wave that devastated the island of Phi-Phi Don in Thailand on Boxing Day 2004.
