Landscape Architecture summer 2025 INTERNS

Hankinson Duckett Associates (HDA) has the opportunity for enthusiastic landscape students to join our friendly team and gain experience of working in an established landscape practice during summer 2025.

About us

HDA is a team of landscape architects and planners, ecologists and arboriculturalists who collaborate to ensure that the environment is at the forefront of development decisions. We have a well-established national client base within both the private and public sectors, and our advice is sought at all stages of the planning, design and implementation process for a wide range of development types and environmental projects. HDA was founded in 1998 and has recently become an employee owned trust (EOT), meaning that HDA is managed for the benefit of its employees.

What we offer

You would be joining HDA’s friendly, professional and ambitious landscape architects and planners, working across a range of projects including landscape assessment, masterplanning, management plans, urban design, design and implementation, local and strategic planning, habitat restoration and habitat creation.

Working at HDA will broaden your knowledge of the landscape profession to areas which may not have been covered in depth by your university course. As a summer intern, you will be immersed at all stages, in project work including assessment, masterplanning, management plans, urban design, design and implementation, local and strategic planning, and inquiry evidence. You will also be involved in HDA’s extensive ecology and arboricultural work, including surveys, assessment, restoration, management plans and inquiry evidence.

This would be a well paid, full-time position for the period between July and September 2025, although exact start and end dates will be negotiated depending on individual circumstances. There may be the opportunity to continue working with us for an extended period following the internship, such as a ‘year out’ position. HDA is committed to Equal Opportunities for all.
