Landscape architecture is a design-based profession founded on an understanding of the landscape; that understanding derives from landscape aesthetics and environmental sciences, specifically geology, soils, hydrology, botany, climatology and ecology. The session last Tuesday focused on SOILS, how they are derived from parent rocks which affects their texture and chemical composition which were tested in the laboratory.
