In this interactive session, we will \u2018imagine anew\u2019 teaching and learning in ways that put staff-student and student-student relationships at the heart of our pedagogy and our students\u2019 experiences. Drawing on more than 400 interviews with students and staff in U.S. higher education, we will explore how relationships are a flexible, equitable, scalable, and humane approach to ensuring that all students experience welcome and care, become inspired to learn, and explore the big questions that matter for their lives and our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Biography<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Peter Felten<\/strong> is Professor of History, Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning, and Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning at Elon University, North Carolina, USA. Peter has published six books about undergraduate education including (with Leo Lambert),<em>\u202fRelationship-Rich Education: How Human Connections Drive Success in College<\/em>\u202f(2020). His next book, a student guide to relationship-rich education, is co-authored with Isis Artze-Vega, Leo Lambert, and Oscar Miranda, will be published by Johns Hopkins University Press in early 2023 (with an open access online version free to all readers). He has served as President of the\u202fInternational Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning\u202f(ISSOTL) and also of the\u202fPOD Network, the U.S. professional organization for academic developers. He is a Fellow of the\u202fJohn N.
