We know a lot about teaching and learning in conventional contexts, and many teachers have learned a lot during the last year about converting to online. But now that both teachers and students have begun to understand the value of online learning, there will be an increase in the proportion of blended learning being used in courses. So in reimagining how HE will develop after learning the lessons of lockdown, can we also imagine how the academic community might find new ways of collaborating to innovate? Of working together to shoulder this new burden of innovation and work out how to make blended learning as effective as possible in their own teaching and learning context? The talk will offer some options for doing this, related to the University of Gloucestershire’s emerging blended learning framework, and will report on the early stages of engaging academics as teachers in developing new knowledge as we do in our research – through collaboration and peer review.

Biography

Diana Laurillard is Professor of Learning with Digital Technology at UCL Knowledge Lab, University College London.
