{"id":1097,"date":"2020-05-07T10:51:19","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T09:51:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uniofglos.blog\/festivaloflearning\/?p=1097"},"modified":"2020-05-07T10:51:19","modified_gmt":"2020-05-07T09:51:19","slug":"three-minute-thesis-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.glos.ac.uk\/festivaloflearning\/2020\/05\/07\/three-minute-thesis-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Minute Thesis Final"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:29px\" class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>80,000 word thesis, one slide, three minutes&#8230; who\u2019s going to win?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An 80,000 word thesis would take nine hours to present; our finalists have explained theirs in just three minutes with the aid of a single slide!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3MT competition challenged finalists to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in three minutes in a language appropriate to a non\u2010specialist audience. Competitors were allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uniofglos.blog\/festivaloflearning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2020\/05\/3MT_Logo_Mono-1024x324.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1290\" width=\"580\" height=\"182\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3MT 2020 Final<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to our seven finalists for 2020 who competed on Wednesday 3 June in a live event hosted through MS Teams. The competition, as every year, was high with truly original and involved research.
