A ‘pod-ucation’ learning journey: The pedagogical application of social audio through interdisciplinary shared empirical practice
Robert Whitehouse (School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences) and Alex Ward (School of Creative Arts) with students from both Schools
The impact of social audio to support student engagement is discussed and presented by Alex Ward and Rob Whitehouse. Using examples of empirical practice, current pedagogical (curriculum) designs and student experiences, we offer our aims of facilitating the transfer of knowledge in teaching and learning. In doing so, we are mindful of mobile-gogy and the needs of our ‘digitally proficient’ and expectant learners.
Designing for creative learning is a challenging and experimental process and can be resource intensive. Reflecting and evaluating (from our interdisciplinary journey), our presentation will map the mechanics of social audio storytelling and compare practices in the School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences and the School of Creative Arts.
We have sought to find conceptually similar pedagogical patterns to identify fruitful common approaches and facilitate knowledge exchanges that better support learning opportunities (in the hope of) providing future improvements in the quality and accessibility via social audio storytelling.
