External keynote lecture

Truth or dare? What role does digital literacy play in transforming universities?

“The problem with quotes on the Internet is that you can’t always be sure of their authenticity.” (Abraham Lincoln)

In this keynote we will explore what a university education means in a changing world, where technological innovations are rapid and disruptive, where we have limited resources, where student needs are changing and where staff morale is low.

Taking a collaborative approach and assuming a playful mindset, we will together explore responses to the higher education landscape we find ourselves in, unpick what we mean by “digital literacy” and explore what pedagogical innovation might look like to support the changes we need to empower both staff and students.

Learning from each other, we will commit to individual actions we can take away to make a positive difference in our work with students and staff.
