I’d been recommended to enter the RWA’s photography open by the Liverpool based artist, Lyndsey Moran, so, after entering, I was given a very pleasant end of year present when I got announced that I had been selected for the open’s exhibition. Story behind them are for the crowd surfer shot; this was taken at the Tramlines festival in Sheffield on the first weekend we were allowed back in large gatherings. I wanted to be a witness to this slice of cultural history and was lucky enough to be sent there by Gigwise magazine. I noticed the gentleman during the band and I thought that he epitomised the feeling in the air. One that was pure joy and relief that we were back enjoying live music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my brother in law in the garden. Marcus pictured here was taking a moment to review local online market places for people selling or giving away furniture. The disassembled sofa is an example Marcus and I got earlier that afternoon in the van we rented for the day. As the weather and light were stunning that day, I thought that I’d try out a roll of film on the Pentax 645 I’d bought a few weeks earlier. I thought that the scene was begging to be captured as it’s a scene that barring the fashion and plastic grass, could be taken at any time since the house was built in the Victorian era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those interested in going, it’s at The Royal West Academy of Arts in Bristol and the website is https:\/\/www.rwa.org.uk\/collections\/art-exhibitions\/products\/bristol-photo-festival-rwa-photography-open-exhibition<\/a>. Tickets are at most \u00a38.90 and a nice 15ish minutes walk from Temple Meads station.
