For a long time, I have known that I want to
photograph Motorsport events all over the world so choosing my area of
specialisation was pretty straight forward. Here in the UK we are luckily
enough to have the world class BTCC which I’ve always been a fan of, due to the
close racing and differing interpretations of what is the best machine for the
Job.

I went along to the Media Day held at
Brands Hatch with a Hasselblad camera and lots of film in the hope I would be
able to get up close with the drivers and get some portraits, luckily enough I
succeeded. I photographed, Jason Plato 2 time BTCC champion and Dan Cammish two
time winner. This approach to my chosen area of specialisation was something
completely new to me, I have never really shot portraits before but by creating
this series I have gained confidence to approach people, talk to them and to
find out their story before I take their portrait.

These two images were produced in response to the Personal Portfolio module.
