{"id":636,"date":"2022-02-18T11:04:20","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T11:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uniofglos.blog\/dataskills\/?p=636"},"modified":"2024-05-30T09:55:23","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T09:55:23","slug":"registration-for-development-counts-dissemination-event-on-16th-march-2022-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.glos.ac.uk\/dataskills\/2022\/02\/18\/registration-for-development-counts-dissemination-event-on-16th-march-2022-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration for Development Counts Online Dissemination Event on 16th March 2022 Now Open!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Registration for our end of project online dissemination event has opened today.&nbsp; This event will bring together global development professionals and educators involved in teaching data skills to explore the debates around data skills and the development agenda. &nbsp;The keynote \u2018Big and Open Data for Development: Mind the Gaps\u2019 will be delivered by Prof. Sabina Leonelli, Professor of Philosophy and the History of Science at the University of Exeter, UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will &nbsp;also introduce the data and development learning resources developed through &nbsp;the Development Counts Project. These resources are designed to \u2018open the appetite\u2019 of non-data specialist students interested in global development to the potential of data and data skills. They include a self-study MOOC and a complementary instructor-led programme which universities globally can jointly run. The MOOC provides a grounding in key content related to data for development whilst the instructor led programme focuses on facilitating students to form international teams to work on&nbsp;data for development collaborative projects. We will explain how other universities &nbsp;can use the resources \u2013 including our \u2018find a collaborator\u2019 tool to identify partners to jointly run the instructor-led programme with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is free and open to all.
