An example would be “we plan to go on holiday to Majorca next week, Insha Allah”. The Qur’an reminds believers that nothing happens except by God’s Will, and by saying these words we are acknowledging that there is no guarantee something will happen outside of our control. But some people have used this phrase as a polite way of saying ‘no’ to something, with the thought in their own mind that if I don’t go through with something, it was never meant to be :< and you can always say it was not God’s Will.

However when use of such a phrase becomes part of one’s culture and practice- it changes the whole meaning of the sacred words. Esentially the lesson for this week is, if you have no intention to follow through with a certain thing then saying Insha Allah would have no effect, but if you truly intend on doing something -indeed add that phrase to that intention, for surely there is much blessing in this. That’s it today. Keep well and see you soon, Insha Allah 🙂

The literal meaning of which is ‘If God Wills, it will happen’ refers to a phrase that is often used by Muslims when talking about or planning a future event.
