November has been a jam-packed month for CEP schools, with several annual programmes entering into their second stage.
The unfortunate cancellation of the HE Prep Day and the rescheduling of a few other events left the majority of activity at the end of the month.
On November 20th, we welcomed Abigail Foster, Founder of Elent to come and talk to us about finance for the future. This event was held at Cheltenham Ladies College and was a huge hit with students from the four schools that attended. A huge thanks to Abi for her help.

Abi was kind enough to stay with us to record an episode of Spill the Tea, which should be available soon!
Changemakers moved into Phase 2, with a fantastic workshop led by Dr Paul Vare of the University of Gloucestershire. We got to find out the kinds of projects our teams are working on and looked at how we make and measure real change in our schools. We are now up to an incrediblr 8 schools particpating in this massive project for change.

Last, but by no means least. Our Young Poets embarked on their second set of workshops in preparation for the Cheltenham Poetry Festival in April. Our facilitators, the wonderful Emma and Spoz led our students into their very first poetry slam! Huge thanks to All Saints for hosting, to the teachers for being our judges, and to the students for their wonderful work!

As we head into the final month of the Winter Programme, there are still a number of fantastic things ahead:
The Physics Factor – Mars Rover Project – Cleeve School – December 1st, 10am-3pm
The Physics Factor is a competition between CEP schools to see who can create the best functioning Mars Rover. This will be the first of a three-day project, and on this day, teams will be conceptualising their Rover and ordering the parts.
Young Content Creators – Video editing Crash Course – UoG Park Campus – December 8th, 3pm-6pm
This creative journey will start our young people down the path of being engaging, entertaining and safe content creators. We have enlisted the help of Unit1 films to teach our students some advanced video editing techniques that will allow them to make top quality content!
CEP Civics Society – Pittville School – December 11th – 4:00-5:30pm
In this session, we will explore the history of democracy and map it’s development up to the present day. We will assess the reasons for its dominance in the west and also consider other contemporary systems.
CEP Creative Writing Society – Pittville School – December 11th – 4:00-5:30pm
This session of the society will look at the importance of exposition in writing creative fiction. This will see our creative writers come one step closer to writing their masterpieces!
