I was once again joined by Bobbie, a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year student <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Bobbidazzl3r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@Bobbidazzl3r<\/a>, to lend a hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thanks to the Friends of Pittville for getting everyone out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was good to\nsee a crowd of about 30 people waiting for me.&nbsp;\nWe started with a quick talk about UK bats, some of the species we are\nlikely to see and how we can identify them. We then handed out our bat detector\nand explained how they work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We didn\u2019t have to wait too long for the bats;\nmore activity tonight. Some pipistrelle flying around the trees and paths, and\nlots of bats flying low over lake. Only the one species tonight but we spent 45\nminutes watching them fly just above our heads close to the lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to everyone who came out for our walks,\nI hope you enjoyed them and learnt something about bats.
