Oxstalls campus bat walk

Our 2^nd bat walk. Tonight we were joined by 5 people on our 2^nd bat walk of the week at our Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester – not Cheltenham – but close enough.

It’s amazing the difference that 24 hours can make from t-shirt weather 24 hours ago we now had jumpers and coats on. It wasn’t ideal weather for bats as it was slightly overcast and chilly. None of our guests had previously been to the campus and we spent 90 minutes walking around the site.

Bats were few and far between – we spotted a single pipistrelle flying over the grass and wild flowers near the Business School. A quick walk along Wotton Brook gave us a few more sightings. A quick detour off-campus and over to the allotments gave us more sightings and we were able to watch the bats fly low over the paths.
