    INVITING A PRACTICE SUPERVISOR OR ASSESSOR TO SIGN YOUR PROFICIENCIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    By the end of every placement, you need to have signed off all proficiencies that are available in that placement. Please note, you must have proficiencies signed in both placements if they are available to you; it is not acceptable to have a proficiency signed only once if there is the opportunity to have it signed in both placements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To invite your Practice Supervisor or Assessor to complete your proficiencies, click on the menu to the top left of the ePAD and select \u2018Assessment of Proficiencies\u2019. Next, click the blue \u2018Invite Supervisor \/ Assessor\u2019 button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now, you can either invite your Practice Assessor by dragging their name from the left to the right of the screen, or you can add the email address of your supervisor in the box at the bottom of the page. You should only add either one assessor or one supervisor, not both. When you have chosen your assessor or added your supervisor\u2019s email address, click the red button \u2018OK, send invitation for the assessment of proficiencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please note \u2013 if you are asking a member of staff that you have worked with for a short time to sign a proficiency e.g. someone you have worked with from a different ward or area for example a spoke day, you must also email that person and tell them which number(s) proficiencies you are asking them to sign. Staff are not going to look through the whole list to try to work out which one you want to be signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The following video will guide you through the Assessment of Proficiencies process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maintaining proficiencies in placements 2,4 and 6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    In addition to completing any outstanding proficiencies in the second placement of each year, students are expected to clearly demonstrate that they have maintained all previously approved proficiencies throughout their placement. Students are not required<\/strong> to have all proficiencies signed more than once; however, this is a great way to demonstrate that the proficiencies have been maintained throughout the placement, and students are actively encouraged to have as many proficiencies signed for a second time as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The ePad will allow proficiencies to be signed several times. When a proficiency is signed for a second time, the latest date will show to the right of the list, as in this example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If a proficiency is not maintained, the Practice Assessor will re-sign that specific proficiency and mark it as failed, as in this example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The student will then need to be reassessed on that proficiency to pass it before the end of the placement. Once the proficiency has been passed, the green tick will show to the right of the list, as in this example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please note that if a proficiency is not re-signed in the second placement of the year, it is deemed to have been maintained throughout the placement unless the practice assessor has specifically indicated that there are concerns regarding any proficiencies. In this case, the student should contact their coach in practice for initial advice and guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
