At the beginning of a new year, at the end of your course, and occasionally at the start of a new placement, you will need to complete a set of mandatory self-declarations. The declarations ask you to confirm that you are of good health & character, as defined by the relevant Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB) and to detail and new or existing convictions, cautions or ongoing investigations. You will need to complete the declaration to be able to access ARC POW and see your placement information.

At the end of your course, this declaration is used to tell your professional regulatory body that you have made a declaration of good health and character, that you have no cautions or convictions and that you are able to enter the relevant professional register.

When you log into ARC POW, you will be presented with the self-declarations page; each course may have a slightly different set of declarations. You will need to complete all declarations that are presented to you to be able to continue into ARC.

To complete the self-declaration, first, click the blue link and carefully read the text that will open in a new tab in your browser.

When you have read the declaration text, click the box to say that you need to state that you have read the declaration and that you agree to it by clicking yes or no as shown below.

If you click “no” you must enter a comment to explain why you have selected “no” and you will need to meet with your course lead, practice-based learning lead to discuss the reasons for your answer before you will be able to attend any placements.

You now need to continue the declaration and read and answer the remaining declarations. Please ensure that you add comments to explain your answers if you are unable to agree to any of the statements.

Once you have read and agreed to all of the self-declarations, you need to click the blue submit button to continue to the ARC POW site. The submit button will not work until you have answered all of the questions in the self declaration.

If you are unable to agree to any of the self-declarations, please contact a member of the placements team or your personal tutor urgently to discuss your concerns.
