Graduate Internships and Ongoing Support for Graduates

We offer a range of support for our graduates, and Nick Oxlade, Director of Student Futures at University of Gloucestershire has provided this update on the work of his team.
“I’m writing to share an update on the recent paid graduate internships, which concluded last week. These month-long opportunities were offered to University of Gloucestershire graduates who were looking for work from the Class of June 2023. We are pleased to report that the feedback from both graduates and employers has been overwhelmingly positive, so wanted to extend both a thank you to any alumni who have supported our recent graduates, and a congratulations to recent alumni who completed one of the internships.
This initiative has provided valuable real-world experience to our graduates, helping many to build on their degrees and develop essential skills to take the next steps in their careers. We understand that a number of graduates who undertook the intern programme have now been successful in securing some substantive work with their internship providers.
Graduates who took part have reported that the internship was a great place for them to build confidence and gain valuable work experience. They found they had some great opportunities to develop, which was a confidence boost, and through being in a workplace environment, they gained new insights and were able to develop new skills. We were also thrilled to hear that all the employers felt that the experience was helpful to their Organisation, and they felt they had gained from having new talent within their teams.

Graduate Outcomes Survey:
The Graduate outcome survey is currently live for graduates from the Class of 2023. This is a critical way for Universities to understand how our graduates are progressing. Last year, the survey highlighted that 96% of our graduates had moved into employment or further study after leaving the University of Gloucestershire. Please do encourage any graduates you may know from the class of 2023 to complete the survey, and please reassure them that if they have had an email, text message or a phone call about the graduate outcomes survey, this it isn’t spam or marketing! Career Support Reminder:
We’d also like to remind all University of Gloucestershire graduates that career support remains available. Whether you’re seeking advice on job applications, interview preparation, or exploring new career paths, our team is here to help you make the best use of your degree and ensure you’re on track to securing a great job.
We’re proud of the ongoing efforts to support both our graduates and current students and look forward to continuing to help them reach their full potential.
Kind regards,
Team Glos!
